Cork is a unique natural material harvested by hand from the cork oak tree (Quercus suber), which grows mainly in the Mediterranean region, with Portugal and Spain leading global production. The harvesting process is fully sustainable, as bark is removed from mature trees every 8–10 years without harming them, allowing regeneration and continued CO₂ absorption.
After harvesting, cork is cleaned, granulated, and processed to form the base of VIPEQ’s high-performance coatings.
